jensong - Suits Me Fine by Jen Frankel recorded live at Cafe Taste, Jan 2009
I wrote "Suits Me Fine" with Alison Kenzie back when we used to hang out around her grand piano and she'd accompany me on Duran Duran and Howard Jones tunes. We wrote it initially as a joke, to try to come up with a totally shallow, predictable rock song where you can guess the next line because it's the most obvious rhyme. And then, well, we liked it.
On this live version, the backing vocals are improvised by the ass-kicking Madame Hair, who'd never heard the song until that moment.
SUITS ME FINE
Since you left me I've been so sad I can't believe that you act so bad My friends Told me to leave you alone But I waited in the hope that you would Phone
Since you left me I've been just blue I can't live without you Every night I pray to God above 'Cause I really need Really need your love
Oo, I really need your love I need your love I really need your love I need your love I really need your love I need your love
What a fool I've been I guess that's what I get For running 'round with you And you seem to forget What we've been through together All the tears and the strife And all I gotta say is Get out of my life
Since you left me I've been just green I can't believe that you act so mean You left me flat without a dime But I guess that suits me fine
Oo, it suits me fine, fine, fine It suits me fine It suits me fine It suits me It suits me fine, fine, fine It suits me fine
What a fool I've been I guess that's what I get For running 'round with you When you seem to forget What we've been through together All the ups and the downs And all I gotta say is Get out of this town All I gotta say is Get out of my town All I gotta say is Get out of my life
Now I see you on the street with that Little blond And finally on me it's dawned That I Don't need you Just like you don't need me And that suits me perfectly
Oo, it suits me fine, fine, fine It suits me fine It suits me fine It suits me It suits me fine, fine, fine It suits me fine
